While we all visit Disneyland for the nostalgia of being at the original park, there have been lots of new additions to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure this summer! From musicals to characters, dining, and even some great promotions for last-minute travelers.
"Rogers: The Musical" made its debut early this summer in Hollywood Land at the Hyperion Theater. This 30-minute show is currently performed three times a day and relives the life of none other than Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America. Guests are highly recommended to join the virtual queue if they would like to view the show. The standby queue will be gone through on a first-come, first-served basis if capacity allows. To guarantee a seat of your choice, we highly recommend purchasing the Musical Premium Viewing Experience. This gives guests access to an exclusive lounge before the show, allows them to be the first to enter the theater to pick their seats, and gives each guest a souvenir popcorn bucket filled with, you guessed it, red, white, and blue popcorn, along with a beverage. Guests who purchase this $29 package will also receive a commemorative lanyard at the time of purchase and an exclusive PhotoPass photo opportunity. To purchase the Musical Premium Viewing Experience, stop by the podium near Stage 12, between Studio Catering Co and Hollywood Lounge.
Big Hero 6 fans rejoice! We've all been not so patiently waiting for San Fransokyo Square. "The Lucky Fortune Cookery" will be opening its doors on July 19, and the menu looks absolutely incredible. We're sure the lines will be long during the opening week, but mobile order will be available to help cut down your wait time. The Beef Birria Ramen, Bulgogi Burrito, and Baymax Macaron are sure to be a hit, along with the Udon, sandwich, and nacho options that are also available. Another addition to San Fransokyo will be "Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill," opening on July 26, and it will also be offering mobile ordering. The menu is full of all different types of tacos to choose from. "Aunt Cass Cafe" doesn't have an opening date just yet, but we do know that it will be coming soon and will also offer mobile ordering. Guests can enjoy sandwiches, soba noodles, soups in sourdough bowls, and for pickier eaters, they will also have mac and cheese.
The beauty of Disneyland and California Adventure is that you never know who you might see exploring the parks. Unlike Walt Disney World, characters are out and about strolling the parks and interacting with guests. The newest addition to Avengers Campus is Nick Fury, but keep your eyes peeled because you never know if Scarlet Witch or Loki is around the corner.
Tiny travelers, get your dancing shoes on and get ready to celebrate with some of our favorite Disney Junior characters at the brand new "Disney Junior and Friends Playdate," taking place at the Disneyland Resort from August 18th through 20th. There will be a Playdate Party Parade with Mira, Elena, Vampirina, Sofia, and Doc McStuffins, just to name a few of the many characters that will be there. In addition to the parade, there will be a stage show featuring Winnie the Pooh and friends, along with Alice's Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party, which will even offer cupcake decorating! Spidey and his amazing friends will have a photo opportunity, and as always, you can dance your heart out at the Disney Junior Dance Party. This will all take place in Disney California Adventure, but don't worry, there's still fun to be had in Downtown Disney. There will be Disney Junior-themed treats at Marceline's Confectionery and a photo wall for taking pictures.
It's not too late to book your end-of-summer last-minute getaway. Select Disneyland resorts are offering up to 20% off trips taken between August 1 and September 30. The deals get even better if you're a Disney Visa Cardholder; Cardholders will receive up to 30% off select Disneyland Resorts.
