Unique Character Meet & Greets at Walt Disney World

There's a little bit of magic everywhere you turn in Walt Disney World, sometimes even when you least expect it. Most character meet-and-greets can be found in the My Disney Experience app, along with their locations and greeting times, but there are a few that will catch you by surprise. You'll just have to keep your eyes open for them.

Magic Kingdom

There's an adventure around every corner in Adventureland. Roaming characters are few and far between in Magic Kingdom, but if you're really searching for them, you just might find them in Adventureland. Captain Jack Sparrow is occasionally spotted roaming near Pirates of the Caribbean and hanging out near the stage across from the ride. Peter Pan can also be found wandering around Adventureland, interacting with guests looking for his shadow. If you venture over to Frontierland, you might be lucky enough to see Big Al and Liver Lips walking around near the Country Bear Jamboree. While the show may not be open, you can still occasionally meet the characters!

Animal Kingdom

There's no place to go but UP! Everyone's favorite bird, Kevin, is always out and about exploring. To find Kevin, we highly recommend hanging out near Flame Tree Barbecue and around the outskirts of Dinoland. Kevin unfortunately doesn’t have “set hours” during the day, but he's often out and about around lunchtime. If you find yourself around Asia and Africa, keep your eyes peeled in the trees and bushes and watch for any movement. You have to be looking extra carefully or you might just walk right by DiVine.

Hollywood Studios

Galaxy’s Edge is the only place at Walt Disney World where characters freely roam all day long. Guests can interact with Stormtroopers who are on patrol, Droids rolling around, and even some sought-after characters. Kylo Ren is occasionally out searching Batuu for Resistance Fighters, and Rey and Chewbacca often roam looking for new recruits. The arguably most sought-after character meet-and-greet in Hollywood Studios is none other than the Mandalorian and Grogu. They are free-roaming characters, so they don’t often stop, but they can be found wandering around the Black Spire Outpost and usually draw a crowd instantly. We highly recommend grabbing a Black Caf Cold Brew and making yourself comfortable if they are a must-see on your next Walt Disney World vacation.
