RunDisney Registration Tips and Tricks

Set those alarms! The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend is a ghoulishly good time that you won’t want to miss. Tomorrow, February 13, 2024, at 10 AM Eastern Standard Time, potential participants will be able to register for this frightfully fun event!

Preparing for Registration

We highly recommend getting all of your ducks in a row prior to the chaos of registration morning. Go to rundisney.com and click on the Health and Support tab. From here, you can manage your account and ensure that all of your profile information is filled out and complete. This will help save precious time tomorrow!

Registration

RunDisney registration is notoriously competitive! Depending on the race, registration spots go quickly. We HIGHLY recommend blocking out your morning from 9:30 AM EST to about noon just to be safe. If you arrive at the RunDisney landing page before 10 AM, you will be placed into a virtual waiting room. While registration opens at 10 AM EST, that doesn’t always mean you’ll be selecting your race and checking out right at 10. We highly recommend having multiple browsers open and using multiple different devices! Upon registration opening up, all hopeful participants will be placed at random into a virtual queue and assigned a number. Once assigned a number, the screen will also show your approximate wait time. DO NOT exit this screen or you will lose your spot! Yoga and the shorter distance races tend to sell out the fastest, so we highly recommend registering for these first! For runners who are hoping to sign up for the challenge, you must sign up for the challenge to receive all three medals; you cannot individually purchase each race.

Once you have successfully entered registration, you will need to sign up. This means you’ll use your My Disney Experience or Disneyland app login information to process your registration. You will be asked a series of information and questions. Payment will be due in full at the time of checkout. While you can register for yourself and an additional runner, keep in mind that it takes more time to check out multiple people, so if you have multiple adult runners, we highly recommend each having their own login. In the event you are registering for multiple people, you will fill out registration for yourself first and then go back and select “add another registration.” Keep in mind that you will have to check out with a single method of payment, so have that ready!

Events

While it is a race weekend, there will also be Yoga on September 5, 2024, to kick off this spooky weekend! Yoga will take place in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, and will cost $130 per participant; all participants must be at least 10 years old. Next up is the Disneyland Halloween 5K, themed after Chip and Dale! The 5K will cost $120 per participant, and all participants must be at least 5 years old and must be able to complete the 5K without assistance. Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize at this year's Disneyland Halloween 10K. This race will take place both in the parks and in the surrounding Anaheim area and costs $175 per participant. Participants must be at least 10 years old. Proof of time is not required for the 5K or 10K.

Run “amok” during the Halloween Half Marathon! Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle don their Sanderson Sister Halloween Costumes for this race! This 13.1-mile course takes place through the Disneyland Resort and the surrounding area and costs $260 per participant. For runners who believe that they will finish the race in under two and a half hours, proof of time is required to be placed in a certain start group(s). If you believe you will finish it in more than two and a half hours, proof of time is not required. All participants in the half marathon must be at least 14 years of age.

Kids Races are a fun addition to the Halloween Half Marathon weekend! Kids 9 and under can participate in age-specific races on Saturday, September 7, 2024, following the 10K. Children are broken up by ages 0-1, 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. Registration is $40 per child to participate. The Chills and Thrills Challenge might be your dream challenge, or it could very well be a “Nightmare Before Christmas.” Join Jack, Sally, and Zero while running both the 10K and the Half Marathon. Participants in the challenge will receive three medals, but you must sign up specifically for the Challenge, which costs $440.

Once you’ve registered, the fun part begins! It’s time to book your resort stay and park tickets! One of our travel agents will be more than happy to take the stress out of planning your vacation so you can focus on training for your race(s)!
