Plan Your Park Days in Advance with Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass

Beginning today, July 24, the Genie+ Service has transitioned into a new system called Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This new system allows guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort to make three ride selections for each park day seven days prior to check-in at 7 AM EST. Guests can choose their experiences and times before purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Once guests are in the parks and have used a selection, they can check the My Disney Experience App for availability to make an additional selection. Guests with annual passes or those not staying at a Disney Resort (or at Shades of Green or Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels) can make their selections three days prior to their park day.

In Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios, guests will choose attractions from two different tiers. The first-tier group allows guests to make one selection, while the second-tier group allows guests to make two selections. The first-tier group includes the more popular rides in each park. For example, in EPCOT, guests can choose between Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, and Soarin’ Around the World. The second-tier group includes all the other attractions previously included in Genie+. In Animal Kingdom, guests will choose all three selections from a single tier. Once you select your rides, the My Disney Experience App will automatically generate the fastest return time. Feel free to play around and select a different time that better fits your schedule. Your selections are "held" for five minutes before checking out. We highly recommend making your initial selections for your "must-do" rides.

Keep in mind that while you can make selections for multiple days of your trip on the same day, they will be processed as different transactions within the My Disney Experience App for each day. Each park is priced differently, and prices can fluctuate depending on the day, similar to how Genie+ was priced. For example, a random day in August will be less expensive than, say, Christmas Day.

Individual Lightning Lanes have now become Lightning Lane Single Passes. Guests can purchase up to two Lightning Lane Single Passes per park day. When making these selections, guests can secure a time to experience some of the most highly in-demand rides in the park, such as TRON: Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Your selections for Individual Lightning Lanes can be in different parks. These can be purchased seven days prior to check-in for guests staying at Walt Disney World Resorts and three days prior to your park day for guests who are annual passholders or staying off-property. When checking out, guests will choose a desired return time before processing their payment. If you are purchasing both a Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Individual Lightning Lanes for the same day, this will all be completed in one transaction in the My Disney Experience App.

These new changes are exciting and will give guests the opportunity to plan ahead for their next Disney vacation. Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort is a great way to take advantage of this new system, have first dibs on all of your favorite Walt Disney World rides, and minimize your time waiting in line.
