Make a splash this summer at Typhoon Lagoon!

Surfs Up! Summer’s here, and it’s the perfect time to make a splash at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. Typhoon Lagoon is the perfect place to sit back and relax amongst the towering palm trees in this island oasis, you may even forget that you’re in Florida. The tale-tell is that this tropical paradise was hit by a typhoon causing a shipwreck and leaving behind fishing gear and surfboards. This is the perfect destination for the whole family that is full of waterslides, a lazy river, a wave pool and even Ketchakiddee Creek for the little kiddos.

Surf Pool

It’s no secret that the biggest draw to Typhoon Lagoon is the Surf Pool, the LARGEST wave pool in all of Northern America full of 6 foot waves. Each day a sign is posted outside of the wave pool with that day's “wave schedule” if you have young kids with you, you may want to avoid the times with waves! Complimentary life jackets are available throughout the park for guests to use, but keep in mind that inner tubes are NOT allowed in the wave pool.

Ketchakiddee Creek

Ketchakiddee Creek is full of shallow pools, small water slides, waterfalls and water cannons for guests that are shorter than 48 inches.  There’s plenty of space for parents to sit back and relax while their little ones enjoy making a splash in this area that is the perfect fit for them. There is also a sandy beach and playground to occupy kids that need a little bit of a break from all of the fun in the water.

Water Slides

Take a ride on the more adventurous side and board a raft on Crush ‘n’ Gusher a coaster like raft ride. Guests must be 48 inches or taller to ride this thrilling 400 foot long tube slide. If you enjoy the adventure and thrill of Crush ‘n’ Gusher venture over to the highest and wildest raft ride Mayday Falls. For the less adventurous travelers, Keelhaul Falls is a more tame inner-tube ride that is known for having a short line most of the time!  The whole family can set off on a white water adventure when they hop on a family raft that seats four on Miss Adventure Falls. For guests who are brave enough there are three different body slides - Jib Jammer, Stern Burner and Rudder Buster regardless of which one you pick you’re in for a wild zip turning adventure!

Castaway Creek

Sit back and relax in an inner-tube while you leisurely float down Castaway Creek in Typhoon Lagoon’s “lazy river.” Guests of all age can participate in this family friendly scenic voyage down the creek. Guests can grab a raft at any of the five entrances to Castaway Creek and hop on in to this 2,000 foot long slow moving creek. But don’t say that we didn’t warn you about the waterfalls and misters throughout the route.

Dining at Typhoon Lagoon

The trip to Typhoon Lagoon alone is worth getting to experience Mini Donuts by Joffrey’s Coffee! These delicious little cake donuts are freshly fried and served by the half dozen. If these decadent little pillows aren’t good enough on their own you can opt to add on chocolate, raspberry or white chocolate dipping sauce. For guests who prefer a healthier choice, Leaning Palms has everything you could want from Rice bowls, burgers, hotdogs, pizza, salads and sandwiches along with beer and wine. Speaking of beer…stop by Let’s Go Slurpin for your tropical cocktails, beer and wine. If you plan on enjoying a few beers while at Typhoon Lagoon pick up a draft beer souvenir cup, same day refills are discounted!
