Genie+ more often than not is the most stressful part of a trip to the Disneyland Resort for guests! Guess what?! It doesn’t have to be! With the Castle Bound Travel Company tips and tricks we’ll have you navigating Genie+ like a professional!
First things first, when one of our amazing travel experts is booking your trip to the Disneyland Resort, you actually have the opportunity to add Genie+ on to your resort and ticket package. When purchasing it at the time of booking, you will have to add it on for the entire length of your tickets! For guests that aren’t sure if they want to add on Genie+ at the time of booking or if they only want to use it once or twice during their stay, have no fear you can choose to add it on during your vacation on the day you would like to use it!
To add it on during your stay, you will go into the:
Disneyland App > On the Home Screen you will select "Purchase" under “Disney Genie+ Service”
This will allow you to select what guests you would like to purchase Genie+ for, keep in mind to purchase Genie+ all guests must have a valid park ticket and park reservation!
Here’s where things get a little tricky! Unlike Walt Disney World guests can not make their first selection until they physically swipe in and enter the park! Regardless of if you are staying at a Disneyland Resort
Once you are inside of the park, you can now make your first Genie+ selection of the day! We suggest making your first selection for your must do ride!
Build your party and select the guests who would like to ride the ride. Select Confirm, and you’re all set to show up at your selected ride during the return window.
After you have made the first selection, you can make your second selection 120 minutes after you made your first selection or after scanning into your initial selection. Whichever comes first!
After your second selection, you can continue getting more genie+ selections for the remainder of your day after 120 minutes or scanning into your selection, whichever comes first! And no, you're not limited to how many genie+ selections you get in a day! The opportunities are endless!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Genie+ if I am park hopping?
Good News! Yes you can! The only stipulation is that your selection can not be until after 11am when park hopping begins! Make sure to let your app know in the “My Day” section of the app that your “next park” is noted!
Does Genie+ sell out?
Yes! This is a possibility, so we recommend adding it on to your vacation package!
What if I change my mind about a selection?
You can always modify an existing selection and select a later time or pick a completely different ride!
