Disney Check Meals: What The Yum Is This?

"Disney Check Meals” make giving a child a healthy option on vacation far from boring! There are so many fun, adventurous and exciting meal options.

Previously known as “Mickey Check Meals”, children menu items with a colorful Mickey icon featured on most Table Service Restaurant & Quick Service Restaurant menus - quickly and easily allow families to identify a healthy meal option for young travelers while at a Disney Park or Resort. 

So, have no fear if you have a pickier child with you! They will still have plenty of your typical child friendly staples. Most restaurants have chicken nuggets and fries, burgers, mac n' cheese and even Uncrustables! If you don’t see an option that you think your child would enjoy on a Table Service menu, never be afraid to ask! Cast Members are more often than not happy to make some extra magic happen if it's possible!

A Disney Check Meal has to meet strict guidelines set in place, which include an entree, two side dishes and a drink - often come with a lean protein, whole grains, vegetables or fruits.The entire meal will be a maximum of 600 calories, less than 2.5 grams of sugar per 100 calories, and less than 1.1 grams of saturated fats per 100 calories. These are a great way to serve a child a balanced, nutritious yet affordable meal while on vacation. Keep in mind that Kids meals aren’t just for kids in Walt Disney World! Adults are also free to order in person or Mobile Order off of these menus if they would like. They come with plenty of food!

Located in ECOT, Connections Cafe features a grilled chicken Bao Bun that comes with your choice of a salad, coleslaw, cuties or fries. Flame Tree Barbeque has the option of a Baked Drumstick or Pulled Pork Platter with Bug Shaped Graham Crackers that double as a dessert to save for later. When it comes to Resort Quick Service, don’t sleep in on Captain Cooks at the Polynesian! Captain Cooks has a delicious Chicken and Pineapple Skewer that is filling enough for an adult!
