Oh, the sticker shock that can come from a Walt Disney World vacation! Sometimes, you find yourself swiping away with your magic band throughout your trip as if someone else will be paying for you. And then you get your bill at check out. Yes, we’ve all been there! But we have good news! There are so many FREE things that you can do on your next Walt Disney World vacation!
Nightly Resort Activities
Enjoy a free dessert treat without even leaving the comfort of your resort! Every resort has a fire pit that serves complimentary marshmallows nightly. All you have to do is show up during the posted time for the nightly campfire, and voila, you have a free dessert! Guests can roast as many complimentary marshmallows as they would like! All Walt Disney World Resorts offer weekly movies under the stars! Each resort will bring out a giant blow-up screen and projector as the sun starts to set to play a Disney movie! There are towels available to lay out and sit on. Some resorts will have this set up in the pool area, some on the hub grass, and at Yacht and Beach Club, it's a movie in the sand! This is dependent on the weather, but at some resorts, they do bring the movie indoors if it rains! Keep in mind the times for these activities vary based on the resort and the time of year.
Free in the Park Activities
The Wilderness must be explored! Become a wilderness explorer in Animal Kingdom and collect all of the Wilderness Explorer badges. Guests can pick up a wilderness explorer booklet at any of the wilderness explorer locations throughout the park. To earn a badge, you will have to interact with cast members to complete various activities and tasks! Don’t worry if you don’t complete this adventure in one day; guests are more than welcome to bring back their booklet time and time again! Drinking and eating around the world in EPCOT is a huge highlight of most adult vacations, but kids sometimes can find that a little bit on the boring side. If that’s your kiddos, we have great news! KIDCOT is the perfect FREE activity for kids on your next trip around the world. In each country, kids are given a different coloring activity that they can add to their KIDCOT bag along with a sticker. There are cast members in each country's KIDCOT location that teach children how to say a word or two in that country's native language, and they even have pin trading! The best part about these activities is that they double as a souvenir that can be brought home to remember all of the fun that you had on your vacation.
Celebrate the Magic
There is always a reason to celebrate when you’re at Walt Disney World! Whether that be a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or even just celebrating some time in the most magical place on earth! Stop by any guest relations location in the parks or the front desk at your hotel to get an “I’m celebrating” button to wear! The best part is these are free!
Disney Springs
Disney Springs is the perfect place to spend a down day on your next vacation. Admission to Disney Springs is free, and there is so much to do from shopping to eating and even live entertainment! There are live performances almost daily and even DJs. Disney Springs is home to so many different retailers and restaurants, so if you’ve been earning Stars at Starbucks, this is the perfect place to redeem your next free treat!
