This just in! Walt Disney World has some exciting new rides, lands, dining establishments, entertainment, and much more on the horizon. D23’s Disney Parks Panel gave us a great idea of what to expect in the coming years.
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom will soon be home to multiple new lands. Last year at Destination D23, a new land behind Big Thunder Mountain was teased. It is now confirmed that Lightning McQueen and his friends will receive their very own Cars-themed expansion in Magic Kingdom. This area will feature two Cars-themed attractions: one geared towards younger guests and another that will take guests on a thrilling race through the mountains. Construction on this supercharged area will begin in 2025.
But the Magic Kingdom announcements don’t stop there! There will also be a Villains-inspired land, featuring two attractions, dining, shopping, and much more.
Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom will finally host a new nighttime parade. The new parade, called Disney Starlight, will debut in the summer of 2025. This parade will feature the latest technology and share the stories of Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, and many more fan favorites.
Last but certainly not least, in Magic Kingdom, we learned more about the “watering hole” mentioned at Destination D23 last summer. This Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern will be a welcoming haven for guests to come together and toast to the life of a pirate. This destination will be opening in 2025.
Hollywood Studios
Monsters Inc. Land will immerse guests into the world of monsters, where laughter is needed to power their city and keep things running smoothly. This new area will feature Disney’s first-ever suspended roller coaster, taking guests through a door vault and into the monster action. Construction for this new roller coaster is expected to begin next year.
Animal Kingdom
At Destination D23 in September 2023, we learned that our beloved Dinoland USA will be converted into a new area inspired by the Tropical Americas. This remodeled area will feature a fountain as its centerpiece, along with one of the largest quick-service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World. Dinosaur will be rethemed into an Indiana Jones adventure, where guests venture into a preserved Mayan temple. This land will also include an Encanto section with none other than the Casa Madrigal. Guests will become immersed in the day that Antonio receives his gift to communicate with animals.
EPCOT
Test Track is currently under refurbishment and will reopen as a reimagined experience in 2025. Test Track will highlight the past, present, and future of automotive technology and will feature six different exhibits in its queue. New show scenes will focus on the evolution of onboard vehicle technology. Another exciting addition to EPCOT will be a brand-new Spaceship Earth Lounge, set to open in 2025.
