Can you believe that it has been 100 years since the start of Disney?! We can’t! While we’re sure you’ll notice all of the platinum and purple throughout the parks - and YES, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle looks absolutely incredible - There is so much more that the 100th Anniversary of Disney has to offer at Disneyland.
During the day, the “Magic Happens” Parade has made a comeback! Most days there are two chances to catch the parade, at 3:30PM and 6:30PM, we recommend finding a spot a little bit before the parade starts to get a prime viewing spot! Main Street tends to draw a large crowd to see the new additions of Moana and Miguel, so to make sure that you have an amazing viewing location, guests can purchase a "Magic Happens Dining Package" at the Plaza Inn. This dining package costs $45 per adult and $25 per child and gives each adult a set meal of Short Rib & Fried Chicken accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables along with the choice of a drink and dessert. Children receive chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and vegetables along with a dessert and drink. Upon finishing your meal, you will receive a voucher for the reserved viewing location to redeem for the 6:30PM parade.
There isn’t just one, but two new and exciting night time shows for guests to enjoy on their next trip to the Disneyland Resort. "Wondrous Journeys" is a 13 minute long night time spectacular that is brought to life by a projection show on Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. While the projection show is nightly, only certain nights will it be accompanied by a fireworks display, so be sure to check the entertainment schedule for during your trip. "Wondrous Journeys" highlights the 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios through clips of some of our favorite films.
The second nighttime extravaganza is "World of Color-ONE" in Disney California Adventure. This projection and water show is 24 minutes and while there are reserved sections, it is standing room only. To have a guaranteed spot to see "World of Color-ONE" guests will have to purchase a dining package, dessert party, or reserve a virtual queue. There is additional viewing space located around Paradise Bay, but that is available on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to check the entertainment schedule - some nights there may not be a showing, while other nights can have up to two showings. For guests who love films like Moana and Ratatouille - you don't want to this is a can’t miss show!
For visitors looking to enhance their trips to the Disneyland Resort, the Guided Tour to Celebrate Disney100 is the perfect opportunity. In addition to the guided tour, all guests will receive a commemorative pin, exclusive viewing for the "Magic Happens Parade", and a unique photo opportunity. The guided tour costs $110 per guest ages 3 and older. There are several different times between 9:25AM and 1PM in the afternoon that guests can choose from.
