Just a quick walk away from the entrance of Magic Kingdom, Bay Lake Tower is as close to Magic Kingdom as you will get at a "Monorail" access resort. While sharing some amenities with The Contemporary Resort, guests will also have an exclusive security for visitors who are able to walk to Magic Kingdom from their resorts making security screening a quick and easy process! Win Win!
Transportation
Shares transportation methods with the Contemporary Resort - Bay Lake Tower is connected to the Contemporary by Skyway Bridge which is located right off the south elevator on the 5th Floor of Bay Lake Tower and connects to the 4th floor of the Contemporary Resort. From there, you can take an escalator or elevator right up to the monorail. The Monorail services guest visiting the Magic Kingdom, the Polynesian Resort, the Grand Floridian Resort as well as the Ticket and Transportation Center. To get to Epcot, guests are required to transfer from one Monorail to another at the Ticket and Transportation Center. Bus transportation is provided for guests to get to both Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. In the event the monorail is down, buses will also run to Epcot and Magic Kingdom. The third and final method of transportation are boats that run from the Contemporary to both the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness making it easy to get over to dining reservations and Hoop de Doo Revue.
*Keep in mind that in order to get on the Monorail - guests are required to go through security as if they were going into a park.
Resort Rooms
Bay Lake Tower features some of the best views that can be found on Disney property with balconies overlooking Bay Lake, Magic Kingdom and the surrounding grounds of the resort. The rooms feature modern layouts that maximize space & can suit the needs of groups of all sizes. The “smallest” room is far from small, as it comfortably accommodates 4 guests and features a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. There are also One Bedroom Villas that sleep up to 5 guests, 2 Bedroom Villas that sleep up to 9 guests and Two Story 3 Bedroom Grand Villas that have 4 bathrooms and can sleep up to 12 adults comfortably. Bay Lake Tower is sure to be your home away from home!
Dining
Conveniently located at the Bay Lake Tower pool, The Cove Bar offers a full bar featuring beer, wine & sangria while also serving a limited menu with BLT sandwiches, hot dogs, salads and snacks.
For more traditional dining - Guests are more than welcome to hop over to the Contemporary Resort to take advantage of their various table services restaurants such as the Contempo Cafe, Steakhouse 71 and Chef Mickeys. If you’re feeling adventurous, hop on the Monorail and check out Captain Cooks at the Polynesian Resort or wander over to The Grand Floridian for additional options as well. Also, keep in mind that you can mobile order right from the "My Disney Experience" app at both the Contempo Cafe and Captain Cooks.
Pools
Soak in the sun as you have a relaxing day at Bay Cove Pool while overlooking the beautiful scenic views of Bay Lake. Enjoy walking into either its zero entry pool design or prepared to get wet as you play on it's 148 foot long water slide as well as a water play area for the smallest travelers that features erupting geysers. Complementary life jackets and towels are available on the pool deck for guests accompanied by the daily pool activities list led by cast members which include pool parties, games, relay races and trivia.
Guests are welcome to also take advantage of the Contemporary’s pools in addition to the Bay Cove Pool. The main pool at the Contemporary features a 17 foot tall, 131 foot long water slide, 2 whirlpool spas as well as a water play area for children. The Bay Lake Pool is a round leisure pool at the Contemporary where the exterior of the pool is shallow and the center of the pool gradually gets a bit deeper. The Bay Lake Pool also has cabanas that are available for daily rentals which one of our Travel Experts will be more than happy to reserve for you in advance.
Recreation
The Community Hall at Bay Lake Tower is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Here you will find plenty of arts & crafts, video games, board games and even movies to watch. Bay Lake Tower is a great place to watch the nightly Electrical Water Pageant but don't worry, guests who don’t have a Lake View Room, can still enjoy the pageant by just heading down to the lawn and pool area for a great viewing spot!
Over to the Contemporary, guests are invited to roast marshmallows at the Courtyard Fire Pit from 6 to 7pm every evening or catch a Movie under the Stars which are held in the Contemporary Courtyard at 8pm on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On the 4th floor of the Contemporary, a Game Station is open for all you arcade gamers out there who just need a bit of "WEEEE" time. But one of our favorite things is, The Contemporary also offers guests the opportunity to set sail on Bay Lake and go on a guided catch and release fishing excursion or take advantage of a beautiful day a rent a self guided motor boat and sail around Bay Lake for the afternoon!
Fitness
Although Bay Lake Tower doesn’t have its own Fitness Center, guests who are 14 and older are encouraged to take advantage of the Olympiad Fitness Center at the Contemporary Resort. This Fitness Center is open 24/7 with a resort room key or MagicBand(+) including access to lockers available to store your belongings. The Olympiad Fitness Center features Life Fitness and Cybex equipment such as treadmills, bikes and ellipticals. There are also free weights and weight machines. For guests that prefer running in the great outdoors, there is a jogging trail around Bay Lake Tower that is just short of a mile but FULL of magical views!
